Israeli medical delegations to visit Uzbekistan for training and operations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 12 to 19 May 2019, a delegation of ophthalmologists from leading Israeli clinics will visit Uzbekistan to conduct free operations, training sessions and experience-sharing events in Tashkent and Samarkand. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The visit is organized with the support of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and is the practical result of negotiations between the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel and the founder of the charity medical organization Eye from Zion, Nati Markus.
Eye from Zion, who serves as the main coordinator of a humanitarian mission, specializes in organizing Israeli field ophthalmological missions to developing countries around the world to conduct various types of operations, from vision correction and oculoplasty, to cataract treatment and other more complex eye diseases.
At the same time, a bilateral symposium of psychiatrists of the two countries will be organized jointly with the Jerusalem branch of the Israeli Psychiatric Association in Tashkent. The program of the Israeli delegation also includes visits to specialized medical institutions in Tashkent and Bukhara, exchange of experience on the modern development of psychiatry, advanced methods of treatment and effective prevention of mental disorders, the establishment of mutually beneficial partnership between relevant departments and organizations.
The agreement on the visit of Israeli doctors to the republic was reached between the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel and the chairman of the Jerusalem branch of the Israeli Psychiatric Association (IPA), Igor Barash.
