Week of Uzbekistan begins at MGIMO

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Russia, the Week of Uzbekistan began its work at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO).
The event is organized by Uzbek students studying at this university with the support of the Embassy of our country. The main goal of the week is to further popularize Uzbek culture among the general Russian public.
A number of cultural and educational events are scheduled for the week. So, the first day is devoted to the peculiarities of Uzbek culture and national cuisine. On the second day, a master class of the Tashkent photographer Yevgenia Arutyunova and the screening of the film “Sen etim emassan” (“You are not an orphan”) are scheduled.
On the third day, a meeting will be organized with famous Uzbeks currently residing in Russia. The fourth block is called the “Day of Science”, which provides for the presentation of MGIMO teachers on history, the modern development of Uzbekistan and its role in ensuring security in Central Asia.
On the final day of the week, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov and the Rector of MGIMO Anatoly Torkunov will address the students. The event will end with a solemn concert program with the participation of music and dance groups of Uzbekistan.
