Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UzGasTrade and Turkmengaz signed a short-term contract for the supply of Turkmen gas in the amount of up to 2 billion cubic meters per year.
This agreement was reached during negotiations in Ashgabat between the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov, who is in charge of the fuel and energy complex.
Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov noted that Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
In particular, the parties considered the issues of concluding a long-term contract for the supply of Turkmen gas and increasing the volume of supplies.
The Uzbek minister added that the parties are considering the supply of electricity, the transit of electricity to third countries, as well as the supply of oil, oil products, chemical products, including phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers, caustic and soda ash, chlorine, etc.
