Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first quarter of 2024, pharmaceutical companies in Uzbekistan produced drugs and medicines worth 1.15 trillion soums, the head of the information service of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmacy Chain, Sevara Tulyaganova said.

In January-March, pharmaceutical manufacturers also exported products abroad for a total amount of US$37 million.

According to her data, companies in the industry have attracted investments worth US$25 million within 17 projects.

Two new projects in the pharmaceutical industry worth US$6.5 million were launched, noted Sevara Tulyaganova.

As a result of negotiations with China, projects worth US$41 million were agreed upon for implementation in Uzbekistan. 

A contract was also signed with the local manufacturer Asia Immunopreparat to export products to China in the amount of US$10 million, she noted.
