Uzbekistan and China Discuss Creation of a US$500 Million Fund for Green Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 July, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology O. Nasritdinkhodjaev with representatives of Chinese companies that are members of the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan.
The main topic of discussion was the outcomes of the recent Green Minerals Forum held in Tashkent. The Chinese side expressed gratitude for the high level of organization of the event and emphasized its importance in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the talks, Chinese partners put forward several initiatives, including the establishment of a US$500 million investment fund, joint research projects, the formation of expert groups, harmonization of environmental standards, development of specialist training programs, and the promotion of green financing mechanisms.
Uzbekistan expressed strong interest in the proposed initiatives, highlighting their importance for the further development of the country’s strategic partnership with China.
