Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 November 2024, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, took part in the grand opening of the Uzbek-German Chamber of Commerce and its first meeting in Hamburg during his working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Key representatives from German businesses, operating in sectors such as green energy, food industry, logistics, and education, attended the meeting. More than 20 German companies expressed their willingness to join the chamber, demonstrating strong interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan.
The event discussed prospects for collaboration, including the proposal of an initiative to hold a forum in Uzbekistan on the issue of external labor migration, which is scheduled for January 2025. The goal of the forum is to attract qualified specialists from Uzbekistan who speak German, for work and internships in Germany. This event will be an important step in the development of cooperation in vocational training and professional mobility.
In addition, it was announced that in spring 2025, the Uzbek-German Chamber of Commerce will organize a Navruz celebration in Hamburg. This event aims to promote Uzbek culture, traditions, and tourism potential among the German audience.
The establishment of the Uzbek-German Chamber of Commerce will provide a new and effective platform for strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties between the two countries, implementing joint projects, and promoting the mutual interests of business communities.
It is worth noting that the decision to establish the chamber was made in September 2023, when the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Hamburg signed an agreement, marking the beginning of a new phase in bilateral economic cooperation.
