The bilateral Turkmen-Uzbek talks took place yesterday in Tashkent. To participate in them, the government delegation of Turkmenistan led by Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov arrived in Uzbekistan.

Rashid Meredov was received by Uzbek President Islam Karimov. The Turkmen Foreign Mnister handed over the congratulatory message of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the approaching Independence Day of Uzbekistan and the invitation to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan.

On the same day, the talks in the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan were held. The package of bilateral documents to be signed during the Turkmen-Uzbek summit in Ashgabat was fully agreed upon, the Turkmen State News Agency reports.
