The International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Shum Bola” to be held in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the International Film Festival “Schlingel” (Chemnitz, Germany), organizes the XI-International Film Festival for children and youth “Noise of Bol” from 18 to 24 April 2024. The festival is organized in cooperation with the embassies of Switzerland and Austria in Uzbekistan and the German embassy in Dushanbe.

The events will be held in the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand, as well as in the cities of Dushanbe, Ayni and Khujand in Tajikistan.

As part of the project, current German-language children’s and youth films from the program of the Schlingel International Film Festival will be shown. Every year, this renowned international festival presents the latest work in German children’s and youth cinema.

The Shum Bola 2024 film program offers a vibrant selection of current films, including Wild Heart - Wild and Free Pony and Ghosts Under the Ferris Wheel. The sequel to the film "Geschichten vom Franz" from Austria and Germany, which was shown at last year’s film festival, will also be shown under the title "New Stories about Franz." The films will be dubbed into Uzbek, Russian and Tajik languages so that all visitors can experience them in their native language.

Young visitors, parents and other interested parties can also expect a varied entertainment program on the topic of cinema.

Michael Harbauer, curator of the Schlingel International Film Festival, will accompany the festival in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan as part of a delegation of nine guests from Germany and employees of the Goethe-Institut.

Films will be shown in the original language with subtitles in Russian and/or synchronized in Uzbek, Russian and Tajik.
