Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Affairs held a meeting to discuss the draft of the State Program for 2025, aimed at implementing the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy within the framework of the "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy."
The draft program covers five priority areas of the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy and includes a specific action plan, a list of legislative initiatives, and target indicators for each area. The key goals of the program include achieving an annual GDP growth of at least 6%, reducing poverty levels, and improving the well-being of the population by 2030.
Special attention is given to the development of "green" energy as a driver of the national economy. As an important incentive for the population and businesses, it is planned to introduce "green tariffs" for electricity generated from renewable sources (solar and wind energy, waste recycling) starting from 1 April 2025.
The program also sets ambitious goals to double the size of the economy by 2030 and to position Uzbekistan among the group of countries with above-average income. To achieve this goal, active cooperation with entrepreneurs on the "korhonabay" principle, expansion of export geography, and strengthening the position of Uzbek products on the international market under the "Made in Uzbekistan" brand are planned.
Participants in the meeting discussed all aspects of the project and provided their suggestions for its improvement. As a result of the meeting, it was noted that the developed recommendations would be taken into account when finalizing and adopting the final version of the State Program, which is expected to play an important role in improving the well-being of the population and further development of Uzbekistan.
