Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilham Mahkamov took part in the global summit of transport ministers, which was held in Leipzig (Germany).

The summit, organized by the International Transport Forum (ITF), was attended by approximately 50 ministers and delegates from nearly 80 countries.

The “Greening Transport: Maintaining Focus in Times of Crisis” summit discussed ways to accelerate climate action in transport during natural disasters, conflicts and other crisis situations.

Summit participants exchanged views on how the transport system promotes economic growth while ensuring environmental and social sustainability.

The summit also included round tables with the participation of transport ministers on topics such as Climate Change, Inclusive Transport, Ensuring Supply Chain Stability and many others.

The international transport forum is an intergovernmental organization uniting 66 member states on five continents. It serves as a think tank for member governments and organizes global dialogue on improving transport.
