13 schools based on PPP will be built in Tashkent and Tashkent region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the President “On the establishment of secondary schools in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region on the basis of public-private partnerships in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank on the basis of public-private partnership” was adopted.

According to the Agreement with the Asian Development Bank on consultations and technical services, an agreement was reached on the implementation in 2023-2024 with the participation of ADB of the project “Creation of 13 secondary schools in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region on the basis of public-private partnership”.

Under the project, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education has been identified as the state partner. The private partner is determined by the results of an international tender, he will design, build and equip schools at his own expense and attract loans.

The document approved:

List of land plots allocated to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education on the territory of Tashkent city and Tashkent region with the right of permanent use for the purpose of project implementation;

Target indicators of the project;

"Roadmap" for the implementation of the project.

In accordance with the Project, ADB allocates funds in the amount of US$1.1 million with a condition of return to provide technical services to its participants and develop tender documentation. Of these, US$$150,000 is returned to ADB by the state partner at the expense of the State Budget, US$950,000 - by private partners at their own expense.
