Retail trade turnover grew in all regions of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2010. In the reporting period, Navoi region led on the growth of retail trade turnover with 20.2%.
Uzbekistan increased production of granulated sugar by 15.1% in January-June 2010 compared to the same period of 2009.
Uzbekistan increased production of cotton yarn by 49.1% year-on-year to 98,400 tonnes in the first half of 2010.
Over 97% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan fell to share of Europe and Asia. Share of these continents in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased from 97.6% in the first half of 2009 to 97.4% in the same period of 2010.
Energy and oil products made up main part of exports of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2010. Share of energy and oil products in total exports of Uzbekistan made up 25.1% in the reporting period against 37.2% in January-June 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Uzbekistan decreased production of oil and gas condensate by 19.7% year-on-year to 1.9 million tonnes in January-June 2010.
Non-state sector is occupying important positions in economy of Uzbekistan. According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, share of the non-state sector in GDP of Uzbekistan was 77.5% in January-June 2010.
Uzbekistan increased cement production by 0.1% year-on-year in the first half of 2010, the State Statistics Committee of the country said.
