Uzbekistan and Israel discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An online meeting was held between the leadership of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation and representatives of Israel’s top universities - the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Weizmann Institute and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel, the event was also attended by representatives of teaching and student teams of a number of universities in Uzbekistan, as well as Presidential schools in Tashkent, Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Khorezm and Samarkand regions.

During the meeting, Javokhir Akhmedov, Deputy Director of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, introduced the activities of the organization to provide funding for the education of citizens of Uzbekistan, including extensive interaction with foreign partners from the United States, Europe and Asia.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Weizmann Institute and the Technion, being Israel’s oldest institutions, are world-renowned centers for education, science, technology and applied research.

Representatives of Israeli leading universities held profile presentations with an emphasis on international undergraduate and graduate programs, research work by foreign students and doctoral students. International initiatives and academic contacts with foreign universities and organizations were presented.

The Israeli speakers provided targeted information on questions asked from the audience of the meeting participants.

Agreements were reached on establishing direct links between the Foundation and Israeli top universities to promote the opportunities for citizens of Uzbekistan to study and research in Israel.
