The results of the regional meeting of the heads of the border departments of the CIS member states were summed up

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March 2023, the 7th regional meeting of heads of border agencies of the CIS member states was held in Almaty, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.

The event was attended by delegations of 7 border agencies of the Commonwealth states: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops, the Anti-Terrorist Center of the CIS Member States and the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the SCO .

During the meeting, terrorist and extremist threats to border security were considered, joint preventive measures were discussed to neutralize them at the external borders of the CIS member states.

Following the results of the meeting, the Protocol was signed.

The next regional meeting is scheduled to be held in the first half of 2024 on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
