A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the international tourism fair in Israel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 February, the International Mediterranean Tourism Market IMTM-2023 (The International Mediterranean Tourism Market) ended in Tel Aviv (Israel), Dunyo news agency reported.

On 14–15 February, a delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National PR Center, Uzbekistan Airways JSC, Air Marakanda LLC, a number of travel companies, including Orient Mice, Dolores Travel, Sanat Travel experts, Next tour took part in the event.

IMTM is the leading professional platform for the Israeli tourism industry and one of the largest trade fairs in the Mediterranean region. About 400 professional stands presented at the exhibition, including those with the participation of more than 50 countries of the world, were visited by over 25 thousand guests.

On the margins of the exhibition, presentations "Uzbekistan - the crossroads of civilizations" and "Samarkand - the tourist gate to new Uzbekistan" were held, where the wide tourism potential of the republic was presented with an emphasis on new infrastructure facilities and opportunities for foreign tourists. In particular, the participants of the events got acquainted with the work of the newly launched Samarkand International Airport, the multi-profile tourist complex "Silk Road Samarkand".

Accompanied by a bright musical program, the famous chef Bakhriddin Chustiy presented Uzbek national cuisine.

One of the guests of honor was the famous Israeli chef and TV presenter Israel Aharoni.

An important event in the opening of tourism markets for our country was the launch of the Jewish Silk Road project on the initiative of the Israeli organization World Jewish Travel with the participation of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Georgia, India and Turkey. The project envisages the creation of a database on the cities of the Silk Road countries with cultural attractions of the Jewish community, as well as the promotion of a dialogue platform to increase tourist flows from among the representatives of the Jewish community around the world to the regions of the Silk Road states.

With the participation of travel companies from Uzbekistan, meetings and negotiations were held with Israeli and other foreign partners to establish new bilateral relations and tourist routes, conduct advertising and information campaigns and diversify air routes.
