Proposals for establishing partnerships between the regions of Uzbekistan and Portugal discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic João Gomes Cravinho.
During the conversation, issues of expanding Uzbek-Portuguese cooperation in all areas of mutual interest were discussed.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan considers Portugal as a promising partner in the European Union with great economic, technological, cultural, intellectual potential and rich history.
The importance of developing a dialogue between the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis with the Assembly of Portugal, organizing mutual visits, and creating inter-parliamentary friendship groups was stated.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in deepening trade, economic and investment ties.
Special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular in the field of education by establishing contacts between research centers and leading universities of two countries.
The sides considered proposals for establishing partnerships between the regions of Uzbekistan and Portugal, in particular the cities of Bukhara and Porto.
