Uzbek FM holds a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 December 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, who is in Lodz on a working visit, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Pekka Haavisto.
The current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres were discussed.
The ministers noted the importance of intensifying economic diplomacy, welcomed the fruitful results of the business forum held with the assistance of Finnpartnership on 1 November 2022 in Tashkent with the participation of a number of Finnish companies in the field of green technologies, energy, water management, building materials.
The need to expand ties between the business communities of the two countries, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and EastCham Finland, was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to building up cooperation in the field of education by organizing mutual visits of experts, exchange programs for teachers and students, and implementing joint projects.
The ministers exchanged views on deepening cooperation within the framework of the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Sea region.
The interest in intensifying the inter-parliamentary dialogue and strengthening interaction within the framework of regional structures was confirmed.
Certain issues on the international agenda were also considered.
