Conference in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Constitution takes place
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 December 2022, the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the Tashkent State Transport University, organized a Republican scientific and practical conference on the topic: “The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a guarantee of human dignity, free and prosperous life."
The event was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Basic Law of the country.
During the conference, there was a discussion of the importance of the role of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in a qualitatively new development of society and the state, theoretical and practical aspects of studying the Constitution in the education system, problems of interaction between international law and national legislation.
The conference was attended by professors, teachers, doctoral students, independent researchers, employees of academic institutions and higher educational institutions.
At the plenary session, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on youth, science, education, health, culture and sports, Chairman of the Constitutional Commission, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for the Development of Legal Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician Akmal Saidov, Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Murodjon Turgunov, Director of the Center for Research on the Development of Higher Education and the Introduction of Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Yakubov made speeches.
As noted, the Constitution, which determines the basic principles of the life of the state and society, acting as a legal guarantee of human rights and freedoms, is not only an important attribute of statehood, but also the national pride and self-respect of every nation. The Constitution of Uzbekistan is no exception.
Every year in Uzbekistan at the beginning of December it is customary to celebrate the Decade of the Constitution. This year, the celebration of the 30th anniversary of our Basic Law is marked by constitutional reforms. It is planned to introduce amendments and additions to 76 articles of the Constitution. According to the draft law, it is planned to introduce 15 new articles and 1 new chapter into the Basic Law. The project takes into account about 160,000 proposals submitted by citizens.
At the end of the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference, a presentation of books was held: three volumes of the five-volume edition "Constitutional reforms: the experience of the countries of the world", "Constitutions of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" and "World constitutions". These publications, prepared by the staff of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, are of great importance in improving constitutional and legal literacy and are a worthy gift for the anniversary date associated with the Basic Law of the country.
