Adkham Ikramov discusses long-term plans with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 5th Islamic Solidarity Game is currently in full swing in Konya. In order to support domestic athletes, the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov is also in Turkey. The agenda of the working visit includes the issues of holding meetings with foreign responsible sports persons and discussing cooperation issues. In particular, today at the Grand Millenium Hotel in Konya, Adham Ikramov met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey Mehmet Kasapoglu.
During the visit, Adkham Ikramov was accompanied by the NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov. At the meeting, issues of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of sports, establishing comprehensive communication in such sports as football, judo, boxing, and weightlifting were discussed. In this regard, Adkham Ikramov expressed his gratitude to Mehmet Kasapoglu and the organizers of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games for the conditions created for the athletes and the events held at a high level.
The Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan told his Turkish colleague about the prestigious international competitions organized in Uzbekistan, including the upcoming World Judo Championship this year, the world championship in boxing in 2023, and the 46th World Chess Olympiad, where recently won the right to hold it in 2026, and invited the Turkish sports delegation to take an active part in these events.
During the meeting, Adkham Ikramov was informed about the victory of the Uzbek youth at the 44th World Chess Olympiad, and delighted with this news, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey Mehmet Kasapoglu congratulated the people of Uzbekistan and the winners of the Chess Olympiad on a historic victory and wished our compatriots big good luck in the upcoming competitions.
