Joint Uzbek-Tajik exercises launched in Termez

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The military delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, which arrived in the city of Termez the day before, was met in a friendly atmosphere and the processes of joint Commonwealth-2022 exercises began.

 After placing the guests in one of the military units of the Termez garrison, in order to organize preparations for the exercises with the participation of Uzbek and Tajik officers, a plan of joint actions was studied in accordance with the plan of the exercise.

The second day of the guests’ stay began with the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth-2022 joint exercises. Major General Zainobiddin Iminov, Commander of the Southwestern Special Military District, and Major General Egamzod Sharof Khudoiberdi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, speaking at the opening ceremony of joint exercises, expressed confidence that the holding of these friendly joint exercises between the armed forces of the two countries will allow further strengthen the bonds of friendship between states.

After that, the state flags of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan were raised to the sounds of the national anthems of the two countries. The opening ceremony ended with a solemn march of the military personnel of the two countries involved in the Commonwealth-2022 joint exercises to the sounds of a military band.

At the end of the opening ceremony at the training points and the obstacle course of the Termez training ground, the servicemen of Uzbekistan organized demonstration classes. In the course of demonstration classes, our military personnel demonstrated in practice the techniques and methods of close combat, evacuation of the wounded and repelling the attack of a mock enemy. The servicemen of the Republic of Tajikistan were able not only to observe the course of demonstration exercises, but also to take a direct part in them.
