Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the President “On measures to improve the management of the Aydar-Arnasay lake system” was adopted.

The State Unitary Enterprise "Directorate of the Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes" under the State Tax Committee is being reorganized into Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes LLC under the founding of the Ministry of Water Resources.

The main tasks and activities of Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes LLC:

step-by-step formation of technological processes for increasing the volume of fish catch, production of export-oriented and competitive fish products;

increasing the volume of fish catch through the use of modern technologies for intensive fish rearing, including the widespread introduction of the cage method, as well as increasing the productivity of natural reservoirs;

construction of modern tourist infrastructure facilities (beach tourism, water recreation tourism, walking paths along the coast of lakes, hotel complexes, recreational, shopping and entertainment and other tourist facilities) on the territory of the lake system, creation of conditions necessary for the provision of services to tourists, as well as development of recreational and sport fishing;

introduction of new modern energy-saving systems and technologies on the territory of the lake system using alternative and renewable energy sources;

carrying out work on the improvement and landscaping of the territory of the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes, as well as cleaning the bottom of lakes from pollution on an ongoing basis, etc.

A moratorium is introduced on the catch of fish in the Arnasay reservoir of the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes for a period of one year, while:

it is forbidden to catch fish in the territory of the reservoir;

hunting tools and nets will be confiscated;

science-based studies will be carried out in order to stock the reservoir with fish.

To the Ministry of Finance together with the State Assets Management Agency,

The Antimonopoly Committee, the Uzbekbaliksanoat Association and the Ministry of Water Resources instructed to transfer Aidar-Arnasay System of Lakes LLC to trust management of a domestic investor with experience in breeding unique fish species and possessing fish processing technologies within four months, on a competitive basis, subject to payment in the established order of investment and stocking of water bodies and entrust him with the fulfillment during 2022-2026 of the requirements for:

making investments in the amount of at least $30 million;

bringing the annual catch of fish in the lake system to 15,000 tons and breeding an additional 5,000 tons of fish by installing ocean cages;

creation of a fish production complex on the territory of the Tuzkon lake of the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes and the launch of an enterprise for processing 3 thousand tons of fish per year in this complex;

increasing the tourist potential of the territory and expanding amateur and sports fishing tourism with the effective use of its capabilities, increasing the volume of services provided to travelers;

conservation of biodiversity and increase in fish stocks of the system of lakes based on a scientific approach;

creation of a laboratory center for increasing stocks of fish in the salt water of the lake system with the involvement of foreign specialists;

carrying out a complete cleaning of collector and drainage networks on the territory of the system of lakes, etc.
