Additional powers of the Agency for Youth Affairs and its territorial divisions have been determined

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President signed the Law “On amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the system of work with youth”.

According to the Law, state bodies and other organizations, as well as citizens, immediately inform the Agency for Youth Affairs and its territorial divisions about violations of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of minor citizens, as well as about the identification of minor citizens and families who are in a socially dangerous situation and need state social support.

The law establishes that the Agency and its territorial subdivisions also carry out the following functions:

- prevention of neglect and delinquency among minors;

- crime prevention;

- protecting children from information harmful to their health.

The law establishes that the Agency is a specially authorized body of state administration in the field of state youth policy.
