CBU accredits Korea’s Shinhan Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan accredited a representative office of Shinhan Bank (South Korea) and issued certificate of accreditation on 25 August 2009.
The certificate allows Shinhan Bank to open office and carry out activity in Uzbekistan, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said on 9 September 2009.
Shinhan Bank, is a bank, headquartered in Seoul, Korea. Historically it was the first bank in Korea, established under the name Hanseong Bank in 1897. The bank was reestablished in 1982. It is part of the Shinhan Financial Group, along with Jeju Bank. Shinhan Bank merged Chohung Bank on 1 April 2006.
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan said Shinhan Bank has been allocating stipends to students from Uzbekistan. Over 270 people receive stipends of the Korean Bank.
