The first in the European Union and the 15th trading platform abroad of the UZEX opens in Riga
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yesterday, the first in the European Union trading platform of the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange - UZEX was opened in the capital of Latvia, Dunyo news agency reported.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the founder is the Latvian company LLC Shipleart (AP Holding).
The increase in the number of UZEX offices abroad is provided for by the provisions of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures to further introduce market mechanisms in the processes of selling highly liquid and monopoly goods" dated March 17, 2021.
The ceremony dedicated to this event was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov, a UZEX delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of the Board of UZEX Zulfiddin Kamalov, Chairman of the Board of AP Holding Alexander Petrov, as well as senior representatives of the Latvian Confederation of Employers and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The participants of the event noted the prospects of joint efforts to increase the volume of mutual trade, using the Riga office of UZEX, emphasized such advantages of the newly created electronic trading system as a unified customer service mechanism, transparency of trade and mutual settlements, direct access to reliable manufacturers, saving time and money, and also a guarantee of payment and delivery of goods.
As noted, the launch of a new trading platform in Riga will contribute to an increase in the volume of domestic exports to Latvia and European countries, in particular, oil products, ferrous metal, chemical products, electrical machinery and equipment, and will also make a significant contribution to efforts to stabilize import prices for a number of food products in demand in Uzbekistan.
Foreign trading platforms are UZEX remote trading offices connected to a single electronic exchange trading system. They provide free access to exchange trading and the ability to independently register exchange transactions. Currently, UZEX has offices in China, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. Their total number, taking into account the newly created Riga site, has reached 15.
