Uzbekistan, the UAE discuss ways to expand innovative cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 June, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by Minister of Government Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Gergawi.
They discussed issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Emirati multifaceted relations and the development of practical interaction.
The head of our state highly appreciated the current level of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, achieved through the implementation of agreements at the highest level.
In turn, Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Gergawi conveyed greetings and best wishes to the leader of our country on behalf of the President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed al-Nahyan and the Prime Minister of the country, Emir Sheikh Mohammed al-Maktoum.
During the meeting, progress was particularly noted in the implementation of projects for the development of alternative energy and the modernization of energy facilities, the creation of modern agro-industrial clusters, the launch of an investment company to support business initiatives, as well as in the implementation of a number of significant social programs.
The importance of continuing joint work in the field of improving the efficiency of the public administration system and training qualified specialists, organizing the activities of the office of the Accelerator of Socio-Economic Reforms, which opened today in the city of Tashkent, was emphasized.
Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Gergawi expressed his sincere gratitude for all possible assistance to the activities of Emirati investors in the republic, for the support and participation of Uzbekistan in the Dubai Expo 2021 World Exhibition.
The Emirates side also presented a new project proposal as part of the implementation of the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to create a zone of environmental innovations and technologies in the Aral Sea region.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the adoption of a joint "road map" aimed at the widespread introduction of the best practices of the Emirates in the field of public administration, the formation of a long-term program of transformations and the transition to an innovative path of development.
