Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 July, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, negotiations were held in the form of a video conference between the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan, the Uztekstilprom Association, the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and the rector of the Bangladesh University of Textile Engineering BUTEX by Professor Abul Hashem.
“BUTEX” is Bangladesh State University of Textile Engineering, where highly qualified specialists for the textile industry are trained. The university was founded in 2010, located in Dhaka. More than 2,600 students are studying in it in 5 areas (textile engineering, textile chemical engineering, clothing design and sewing engineering, textile management and business, science and engineering).
During the negotiations, the possibilities of opening a BUTEX branch in Uzbekistan were discussed. The Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan U. Begimkulov and the Deputy Chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association B. Bukhammadsaidov, who took part in the negotiations, informed the foreign side in detail about the current development of the higher education system in Uzbekistan and cooperation with foreign universities, as well as the growing need for the preparation of highly qualified specialists for the textile industry due to an increase in the level of processing of cotton and cotton yarn in the country.
Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry B. Onorboev proposed to establish inter-university cooperation with BUTEX with the exchange of students and the organization of joint training programs.
