Odnoklassniki to work faster in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A social network Odnoklassniki, together with METROTELECOM, has deployed CDN servers in Uzbekistan to help improve the quality of services for users of OK in the country. In particular, users will be able to watch videos, upload photos and listen to music at maximum speed, since the social network servers will be located in their region.
Hardware-technical CDN solution OK is able to satisfy the growth of user activity and provide the necessary functionality for new product launches.
According to Odnoklassniki, the monthly audience of the social network in Uzbekistan is more than 2 million unique users, of which 25% are users in Tashkent. Among other cities where the most OK users live are Samarkand, Andijan, Ferghana and Bukhara. The core of the audience is young people from 18 to 30 years old.
Odnoklassniki have been operating their own hardware-technical CDN solution since 2014. CDN nodes are located both in Russia and in the CIS countries with the highest user activity. Uzbekistan became the ninth country where OK implemented this technology.
The node is launched according to the proven technology, and does not disrupt the social network. In this case, immediately after launch, users will notice the difference - the so-called heavy content (photos, videos, music) will load and process faster.
Alexei Kashevarov, Business Development Director of Odnoklassniki social network:
- Uzbekistan is one of the leaders in terms of audience performance indicators in the CIS countries. Media consumption among Uzbek users is only growing every year. So, over the past year, the audience of Odnoklassniki music service in Uzbekistan has grown by 49%. The gaming platform is also growing - the audience of mobile games has grown 2.3 times. Users are beginning to more actively consume video content, now indicators are at the level of 215 million views per month. At the same time, the speed of Internet connection in Uzbekistan until recently did not allow the OK audience to actively upload photos, listen to music and watch videos. Launching CDN nodes will solve this problem, and our users will be able to watch videos and listen to their favorite music even faster and with less restrictions. We are sure that with the improvement of access to OK services, our audience will appreciate the capabilities of the social network as a platform where you can exchange emotions and share interesting content with friends and relatives.
Alimkhan Alimov, Strategic Development Director: METROTELECOM:
- The METROTELECOM and OK teams managed to implement, as soon as possible, without exaggeration, a project of national importance for connecting social network CDN servers in our country. The initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, associated with a multiple increase in the speed of the Internet, was embodied, including in our project with Odnoklassniki. Now, our compatriots will be able to use their favorite social network services with even greater speed, and we, as one of the market leaders in the field of telecommunications and data transmission, will attract even more popular Internet sites to localize their content and traffic in Uzbekistan through CDN technology.
