Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “Tsutaya” is the largest network of bookstores in Japan and is very popular among Japanese and foreign citizens. This company was founded in 1983 and currently has more than 1,500 branches throughout Japan. The number of visitors per day exceeds 15,000 and about 4 million people a year.
A presentation of books about Uzbekistan was held at Tsutaya bookstore, which is located in the center of Japanese capital, a district of Ginsd, known as a commercial district and cultural center. The presentation was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tokyo.
The presented books will acquaint Japanese readers with the ancient history, rich culture and traditions of the Uzbek people within two months, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan said in a statement.
This book store "Tsutaya" presents about 60 thousand Japanese and foreign works of art, magazines and old books, as well as publications on various topics. The bookstore has a special interior, which is divided into several unique spaces - a corner of works of art, a place for selling stationery, a coffee shop, as well as a hall for cultural events.
An employee of the culture and tourism department of the Tsutaya bookstore Sh. Sato noted that this action is intended to increase interest in Uzbekistan and its tourist potential among Japanese citizens. He expressed confidence that given the expanded network of Tsutaya bookstores and the duration of the current advertising campaign until 1 July 2019, the current company will further increase the tourist attractiveness of Uzbekistan among the Japanese public and increase the tourist flow to the republic.
