Uzbekistan handed over buses and tractors to Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 January, a ceremony of donating 25 buses, 3 tractors and hinged equipment to Afghanistan was held in Hairatan.
The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatilla Irgashev took part in the ceremony.
During the meeting, Ismatilla Irgashev said that the leadership of Uzbekistan attaches priority to development and strengthening of good-neighborly relations, expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with fraternal Afghanistan in all spheres.
He underlined that Uzbekistan is interested in the soonest establishment of peace and stability in Afghanistan and determination of Tashkent to continue its assistance in restoring the economic and transport infrastructure of the neighboring country.
It was noted that a special Education Training Center for Afghan citizens has been set up in Surkhandarya region, where about 100 students of Afghanistan will arrive on 20 January.
The feasible contribution of Uzbekistan to economic reconstruction of Afghanistan will contribute to improving the life of the Afghan people and its return to normal peaceful development.
Speaking at the event, the official representatives of Afghanistan noted with satisfaction pronounced tendency to expand and deepen the Uzbek-Afghan relations in all spheres.
The Afghan side underscored that the efforts of Uzbekistan aimed at establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan deserving high appreciation through the intensification of trade and economic cooperation, assistance to Afghanistan in implementation of major infrastructure projects and its involvement in regional integration processes.
Participants of the event expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for donating buses and tractors free of charge, noting that this event is a vivid example of Uzbekistan’s friendly attitude to the people and government of Afghanistan.
The buses, transferred by Uzbekistan, will help to transport children to schools in Afghanistan. In the presence of the delegation of Uzbekistan, three buses were transferred to the administration of Hairaton.
