Direct flight to connect Samarkand and Istanbul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Turkey discussed development of aviation communication between the two countries.
Representatives of the State Inspectorate for Supervision over Flight Safety and the Main Directorate of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey held negotiations in Tashkent.
During the meeting, the sides discussed new aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of air transportation.
According to Bahri Kesici, General Director of the Main Directorate of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Turkish Republic, comprehensive development and further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan is one of the key directions of the foreign policy of the Republic of Turkey.
During the talks, the delegations discussed the issues of opening new routes and introducing amendments and additions to the bilateral agreement on air communication.
The parties also discussed a number of issues on commercial cooperation between the designated air carriers of the two states.
The aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Turkey signed a protocol of the meeting following after the talks. The parties agreed to open regular flights between Samarkand and Istanbul during the winter navigation period of 2017-2018. The flight will be conducted once a week.
The parties agreed to increase the number of flights to two per week starting from the summer schedule. At the same time, the parties retained the number of flights between Tashkent and Istanbul.
