Trade House Uzexport-Sibir to be opened in Novosibirsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade House Uzexport-Sibir will start to work in Novosibirsk region in May 2017, Governor of Novosibirsk region Vladimir Gorodetsky said.
The delegation of Novosibirsk region led by governor Vladimir Gorodetsky paid a visit to Uzbekistan.
Representatives of Uzbekistan and Russia signed a memorandum on cooperation in order to increase supplies of fruits and vegetables to Novosibirsk region and other regions of Sibir Federal Area.
Vladimir Gorodetsky said that the visit was directed at developing and agreeing with the Government and businesses of Uzbekistan of new conditions, principles and terms of supply of fruits and vegetables to Novosibirsk region.
He said that Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to create “green corridor” to supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Novosibirsk region.
The “green corridor” regime will allow to optimize time, spent for undergoing phytosanitary, customs and other controls, he noted.
Governor of the Russian region said that Novosibirsk region annually consumes 200,000-250,000 tonnes of agriculture products from Uzbekistan. He said that the region will also become the logistic center on supply of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to other regions of Sibir Federal Area.
Governor stated that Uzbekistan can significantly increase supply of agriculture products if it improves selection of products, decreases transport and mediation expenses.
Vladimir Gorodetsky said Uzbekistan made concrete steps in this direction. He recalled that Uzbekistan created UzAgroExport, which exports fresh and processed agriculture products.
Gorodetsky added that Trade House Uzexport-Sibir will start to work in Novosibirsk region in May 2017. Its capacity will be 75,000 tonnes of products a year initially, but it can be increased in future.
Russian official said that the sides consider issues of transportation of agriculture products from Uzbekistan to Russia via railway transport.
He said that railway companies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are interested in this and ready to provide preferential tariffs at transportation of goods.
Governor said that this will allow to cut transportation time and ensure better storage of agriculture products.
Vladimir Gorodetsky said that Uzbekistan is also interested in supply of packaging products from Novosibirsk region.
