Uzbekistan and Tajikistan hold consultations in Dushanbe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24-25 December 2015, Uzbek-Tajik political consultations took place in Dushanbe, press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
The Delegations of two countries, headed by Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, discussed the state and prospects for development of relations and exchanged views on important regional and international issues.
The issues of strengthening cooperation in trade, economy, transport and communication, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, expansion of existing legal framework.
The sides stressed mutual interest in the realization of the existing potential for the diversification of the range of goods and services in bilateral trade. As they emphasized, the third meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which was held on 22-23 June 2015, enabled to focus attention on the most sought-after areas of cooperation.
The parties expressed readiness to further expand cultural and humanitarian, scientific and sporting links.
They exchanged views on prospects for further development of SCO and CIS, including interaction between two countries in the framework of these organizations. The Tajik side commended the efforts of Uzbekistan to strengthen the potential of SCO.
The Uzbek side expressed its appreciation to Tajikistan for support of Uzbek presidency in this organization.
The sides noted the importance of regular political consultations, which allow to identify and constructively seek together the solutions to existing problems.
