Uzbekistan, South Korea mutually recognize driving licenses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement between the Government of the Republic Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on mutual recognition and replacement of driving licenses came into effect on 24 December 2015, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The agreement was signed in Seoul on 28 May 2015 within the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to South Korea.
In line with the agreement, the citizens of Uzbekistan can drive vehicles in South Korea after replacement of their driving licenses to Korean samples. At the same time, they will not have to pass theoretical or practical exams.
Drivers with driving licenses of South Korea will be recognized in Uzbekistan if the authenticity of the driving licenses is approved with appostille of the responsible body of South Korea and there is notarially approved copy of license in Uzbek language.
