Uzbekistan not to change order of education of university students

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is not planning to introduce changes to current order of education and rules of transfer to higher educational institutions for students, who study on state grants and on contracts, the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan said.
Based on state policy in higher education, guaranteeing general accessibility of education within the state education standards, the order of assigning and payment of stipends to universities will not be changed, the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.
The main direction of budget policy does not envisages any changes to existing order of education and rules of transfer to higher educational institutions for students, who study on state grants and on contracts, the statement said.
Legislative Change said that the expenses for education in the state budget for 2016 will make up 4.8% to GDP without expanses of off-budget Fund for Reconstruction, Capital Repair and Equipment of educational and medical institutions and Fund for development of material-technical base of higher educational institutions.
Income of Fund for development of material-technical base of higher educational institutions forecasted at the level of 355.6 billion soums, which will be formed due to resources of the State budget and sponsors. This will help to finance construction, reconstruction and repair of higher educational institutions, their sport halls and labs.
It is planned to carry out works on construction, reconstruction and repair at 52 objects of 14 higher educational establishments, including sport halls, dormitories, libraries, kitchens, etc. It is planned to buy furniture, ICT and electronics, labs and tools for 100 billion soums to improve education process at the universities.
