Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two devastating explosions struck Saturday morning in the heart of Ankara, the Turkish capital, during peace rally.
According to Turkish police, the explosions were carried out by suicide bombers in the area of the railway station under the overpass. The people were gathering to the peace rally.
At least 86 people were killed and 186 were wounded, said the Turkish health minister, Mehmet Muezzinoglu.
“The accumulation of people was the reason for high number of victims, as well as prevented ambulances to quickly get to the scene and hospitalize the victims to the hospital,” Muezzinoglu noted.
