Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A gentleman’s agreement between airlines of Uzbekistan and Ukraine can help to resumption of flights between Kiev and Tashkent, Ukrainian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yuriy Savchenko said.
RIA Novosti reported citing Savchenko that the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is preparing new proposals and meets the wishes of the Uzbek side.
The envoy said that the proposals can be like those, which the Ukrainian airline made when it started to fly to Tashkent. He recalled that the sides reached the gentleman’s agreement and the UIA stopped to sell tickets to New York.
According to the Ukrainian diplomat, the joint exploitation of flights on code-sharing could also help to settle the situation. He said that the direct flights between Tashkent and Kiev help to development of business relations between two nations and it is necessary to resume air communication between two states.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) stopped flights to Kiev from 12 May 2015 as air administrations of Uzbekistan and Ukraine had no agreement on exploitation of flights.
