Uzbek FM receives newly-appointed Malaysian envoy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received a newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia Dato’ Nor’Aini Abd Hamid on 12 November 2014.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that Ambassador hand over copies of her credentials.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and priority directions of further strengthening Uzbek-Malaysian relations, perspectives of cooperation within the UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
The sides positively rates dynamics of bilateral cooperation in various areas, first of all in trade-economic sphere. The sides said that trade turnover between two states rose 2.5 times in last seven years.
The officials expressed interest in further expanding mutual beneficial relations of business circles of Uzbekistan and Malaysia, regular holding consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two states, expanding contacts between parliaments.
The sides also exchanged opinion on other issues, representing mutual interest.
At the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Uzbekistan, Dato’ Nor’Aini Abd Hamid replaced Abdul Aziz bin Harun.
