Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The French helicopter-making unit of Airbus has been unable to deliver military helicopters to Uzbekistan because of German export controls, the chief executive of the aerospace and defense group said on Tuesday.
The helicopters contain components made in Germany for which the government has not given export approval, meaning the helicopters cannot be delivered, Reuters reported quoting Tom Enders.
At the same time, Tom Enders did not reveal the sum of the deal and number of ordered helicopters by Uzbekistan.
Airbus Helicopters (former Eurocopter) signed a contract with Uzbekistan for supply of six transport helicopters Cougar and ten light helicopters Fennec worth 180 million euros in 2013, the Center for analyses of strategy and technologies reported quoting La Tribune.
