Siloviyi Machini starts to modernize Syrdarya TPS

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Siloviyi Machini open joint stock company (Russia) started to modernize Syrdarya Thermal Power Station open joint stock company.
The Russian company started to ship equipment. The company will launch assembly of equipment in the first quarter of 2014. The project of modernization will be completed by the end of 2014.
Siloviyi Machini and Uzbekenergo signed a contract for designing and installing equipment on “turnkey” bases for reconstruction of two power generating blocks with capacity of 300 megawatts each. After the reconstruction, the capacity of the station will grow by 50 megawatts.
The project is financed due to US$60.2 million and financed due to loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and own resources of Uzbekenergo.
Syrdarya Thermal Power Station was launched in 1981 with installed capacity of 3,000 megawatts (10 power generating blocks with capacity of 300 megawatt each. It annually produced 13 billion KWH of electricity, which makes up 32% of total energy produced in Uzbekistan.
