Food industry of Uzbekistan produces goods for 8.06 trln soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Food Industry of Uzbekistan increased production of goods by 9.1% year-on-year in 2013 – to 8.059 trillion soums in 2013, the information service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The industry noted that the volume of produced food made up 8.059 trillion soums and the share of the industry in industrial production reached 13.2% in 2013, the committee added.
The enterprises of oil and fat industry increased output by 16.8% in 2013, meat and mil industry – 9.2%, and fruit and vegetable – 8.9%.
Large enterprises of the industry increased production of cheese (including brynza) - 4 times, butter - by 21.3%, vegetable oil – 11.2%, sugar – 10.3%, milk and dairy products - 9.6%, bread and bakery products – 7.6%, laundry soap – 5.8%, and pasta – 4.2%.
Uzbekistan also increased production of alcohol (+7.8%), cogniac (+18.3%), vodka and beverages (+5.8%) and beer (+4.9%).
