Uzbekistan to produce tomatoes on hydroponics method

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) supports Uzbekistan in implementation of the project on production of tomatoes with the method of hydroponics.
The project is implemented in Zangiata, Qibray and Yuqorichirchi districts, as well as at Tashkent State Agriculture University. The project cost is US$4 million.
Pravda Vostoka newspaper said that the specialists took into account all details in construction of greenhouses. The body of the greenhouses were constructed based on sun movement and they are fully automated. The operator can manage all processes with clicking to button – close frames, increase temperature, manage sprinkling, etc.
Maqsad Odilov, pro-rector of Tashkent State Agriculture University on scientific work, said that the hydroponics recommended itself as effective method on production of vegetables. The vegetables produced at the greenhouses do not need fertilizers and resistant to illnesses. He said that one bush gives about 10-15 kg of tomatoes. He said that the greenhouse, constructed at the university, will be also used in education process.
The automated greenhouses help to safe water and heating. Some 14 greenhouses were constructed and soon they will give their firs products.
