LUKOIL to sum tender results on Kandym project in 1Q 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia’s LUKOIL will sum up results of a tender on purchase of equipment and constriction of gas processing plant, as well as construction of Kandym field in the first quarter of 2014.
Oleg Vlasov, head of Kandym project, in interview to corporate newspaper Neftyaniye Vedomosti, said that LUKOIL Uzbekistan started to implement several large projects, one of which is Kandym complex.
He said that the project includes construction of gas processing plant and construction of Kandym groups of fields.
Vlasov underlined that currently FEED of the project completed and development of the feasibility study is underway. The tender for purchase of equipment, construction of gas chemical complex and construction of Kandym field was announced.
The winner of the tender will be determined in the firs tquarter of 2014. The project will help to mine over 8 billion cubic meters of gas a year and provide jobs for 3,000 persons, he said.
He said that implementation of this mega project is difficult, but LUKOIL will deal with it.
Operating company LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company does business under production sharing agreement for the block of Kandym Group of Fields, Khauzak and Shady blocks, and Kungrad block, signed in June 2004 between the Republic of Uzbekistan and consortium of investors comprised of LUKOIL and Uzbekneftegaz.
Project of Kandym Group of Fields development includes development of gas condensate fields: Kandym, discovered in 1966; Akkam – 1966; Parsankul – 1967; Khodji – 1969; West Khodji – 1977.
Plans of Kandym Group of Fields development provide for construction of a unique production facility, including more than 100 gas production wells, gas gathering system more than 400 km long, gas processing plant with output of 8.1 bcm per year, export gas pipeline more than 70 km long, railway track 56 km long, external motor roads 120 km long, water supply facilities, including pipelines 90 km long, external power supply facilities (high voltage line 220kV, substation 220/110/35 kV); gas turbine power plant with capacity exceeding 80 MW, shift camp for 1380 persons, central support base, stock tanks and product loading terminal, treating facilities, booster compressor stations.
Target date for start-up of the first stage of the gas processing complex is 2016.
