Kyzylkumcement to invest US$39.6m to modernization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kyzylkumcement open joint stock company, a largest cement producers in Uzbekistan, will carry out a programme on modernization with total cost of US$39.6 million in 2014-2016, RIA Novosti reported quoting representative of the enterprise.
The programme envisages construction of new cement mill with the capacity within next three years, modernization of technical line of clinker, etc. The progamme will be financed due to own resources of the cement plant.
The enterprise increased production of clicker due to modernization in previous years and it requires additional capacities of cement grinding. The modernization will allow to increase capacities of the enterprises by 8-10%.
Kyzylkumcement has been launched in 1977 and it is largest cement plant in Uzbekistan. Its capacities is over 3.1 million tonnesof cement a year with dry method. In 2012, the enterprise produced 3.18 million tonnes of cement (0.2%).
Currently, there are six cement plants in Uzbekistan with the capacity of about 7 million tonnes. Uzbekistan increased cement production by 1.3% year-on-year in 2012 to 6.78 million tonnes.
