Customs officers seize 104 tonnes of metals for 230m soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officers of Uzbekistan prevented 111 facts of illegal movement of 104 tonnes of metals for total sum of 230 million soums, the press service of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The committee said that ISUZU vehicle seized with 1,612 kg of non-ferrous metals in Surkhandarya region with total cost of 2.2 million soums in border area of Surkhandarya region. Uzbek citizen N.Shaymanov tries to realize metals.
The customs officers detained 800 kg of non-ferrous metals worth 5.3 million soums in Namangan region of Uzbekistan. R. Sattarov tried to smuggle the metals to neighboring state.
The customs officers stopped the citizen of neighboring state S. Ashirbekov, who attempted to smuggle 500 kg of non-ferrous metals for 2 million soums to neighboring country. Ashirbekov had no documents for the goods.
In Namangan region, law enforcement bodies inspected house of Z. Hatamov and found 1,700 kg of non-ferrous metals for 4.3 million soums. The metals were prepared to smuggle to neighboring state.
The law enforcement bodies also revealed illegal shop on production of pots from aluminum. During inspection of the house of Sh. Zairov, they revealed 85 units of pots, 27 forms for pot production and 190 kg of ferrous metal scraps.
Investigations are underway on the above mentioned cases.
