Uzbekistan amends law “On protection of consumers’ rights”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced changes and amendments to the law “On protection of consumers’ rights”, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition said in a statement.
A law “On introduction of changes and amendments, as well as abolishment of some decisions of the Government of Uzbekistan” came into force in Uzbekistan.
The law abolished some economic sanctions against legal entities and strengthens administrative punishment against legal entities and individuals.
The law amended article 27 “Responsibility for violation of legislation on protection of consumers’ rights”, which abolished fines to producers and sellers and introduced administrative responsibility for realization of low quality products. It also set fined for violation of the clause.
The changes and amendments will serve to strengthening rights of private businesses and strengthen responsibility of officials of business entities.
