Humanitarian train to head to Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Humanitarian train “Salomatlik” (Health), organized by international charity fund “Soglom Avlod Uchun” (For Health Generation) will leave for Karakalpakstan on 19 October 2013.
Soglom Avlod Uchun said that the humanitarian train for citizens of remote area of Karakalpakstan was organized in cooperation with Uzbekistan Temir Yollari state joint stock railway company.
From 19 October to 27 October 2013 the train will head on route Tashkent-Jaslyk-Karakalpakiya-Tashkent.
The campaign is aimed at supporting population, who needs social support, and rendering them medical and humanitarian assistance.
The group of doctor will carry out medical examination of population, first of all women and children. Special attention will be paid to children with disabilities, families with many children and others.
Local population will receive humanitarian aid, which consists of medicaments, hygienic means, medical products, vitamins, food and clothes.
It is also planned to hold meetings with population to promote healthy lifestyle and raise their medical knowledge.
This year, health train visited Navoi, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya region. Over 3,400 people underwent medical examination. Humanitarian aid for 126.3 million soums and US$420,220 were handed over to population.
