E-library opens at Tashkent State Pedagogic University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An electronic-library has been opened at Tashkent State Pedagogic University named after Nizami.
New library was created within the execution of the presidential decree “On measures on implementation of the project “Organization of electronic library at Tashkent Tashkent State Pedagogic University named after Nizami and Tashkent State Oriental Studies Institute with attraction of the grant of the Government of Korea” from 5 September 2013.
The electronic library was built within the project of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with attraction of the grant of the Government of the Republic of Korea.
The library was equipped with modern and high effective information-communication technologies.
The library has over 100 sets of computers, two scanners and over 10 printing and coy machines, etc.
The library will help teachers, students and population to use library resources and satisfy their cultural and intellectual demands.
The e-library will provide access to the electronic base of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi and other information-library resources, including foreign ones.
Currently, the university works on digitalizing of books. The library currently has over 300,000 books, 450,000 manuals and 110,000 scientific books, including foreign books. Soon, it is expected that the library will be connected to branches of the Center for information resources at the faculties of the university.
