TITF 2013 has got underway in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 19th International Tourism Fair is taking place in Uzbekistan.

Autumn is the peak of the tourist season in Uzbekistan. These days Tashkent traditionally welcomes one of the largest exhibitions in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan - International Tourism Fair TITF 2013. The Fair’s organizers are the National Company “Uzbekturism" and advertising agency "Great Silk Road” of “Uzbektourism” with an official support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

An opening ceremony of TITF-2013, the 19th fair in succession, took place in the metropolitan “Uzexpocenter” Exhibition Hall yesterday, on 8 October.

It should be noted that from year to year the Fair’s organizers are taking a creative approach to preparation for the event, expanding a cultural program, aimed to a comprehensive presentation of Uzbekistan tourist potential at the international level.

The TITF 2013 visitors and participants are kept constantly interested: the exhibition has long gone beyond the standard festival format and developed into a kind of Uzbek culture festival, which serves as a background for a common platform for interaction of tourist business representatives from more than 40 countries.

Thus, the 19th TITF will also include a Khiva puppet show performance, fashion show, performances of folklore ensembles, concert, oriental bazaar, national cuisine festival, presentation of tourist potential of Uzbekistan regions, discussions, workshops, and much more.

This year the Fair exhibition, covering over 10,000 square meters, fully occupies two “Uzexpocenter” pavilions. The first pavilion is presented by representatives of foreign and domestic tourism sector: world-class hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, service enterprises, etc. The second pavilion demonstrates a tourism potential of Uzbekistan to the Fair’s visitors.

The visitors are offered to get familiar with the main tourist attractions of the Uzbek cities, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and also with the possibilities of agricultural, environmental, medical tourism in other Uzbekistan regions, less known abroad. So the Fair presents the possibilities of health resort treatment and rest, cultural tourism and ecotourism of Jizzakh region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the original flavor of the "Golden Valley” of Fergana and Namangan regions, etc.

The TITF-2013 was visited by several thousand people and attended by about a thousand companies on the first day of its functioning. The TITF statistics and final results will be presented tomorrow, an annual award ceremony of the brightest Fair participants by different nominations will also take place the same day.
