Uzbek leader approves measures on expansion of cooperation with South Korea in labour migration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on further expanding cooperation in labour migration with the Republic of Korea” on 1 July 2013.
The document was adopted for further developing mutual beneficial cooperation in labour migration with the Republic of Korea.
On 13 December 2012, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Employment and Labour of the Republic of Korea signed a memorandum on sending works to the Republic of Korea within employment permission system.
The Uzbek leader set the Agency for external labour migration under the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan as authorized body on sending citizens of Uzbekistan to South Korea in line with the memorandum.
The resolution entrusted local administrations were entrusted to assist Agency for external labour migration under the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan to organize testing within the employment permission system and evaluation of the skills of the applicants.
According to the resolution, funds, submitted by the citizens of Uzbekistan as a fee to participate in testing, will be income of the Service of human resources development of South Korea and will not be taxed in the territory of Uzbekistan.
President also exempted test materials, imported into Uzbekistan within the memorandum, from customs duties (except customs registration fee).
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan were entrusted to provide visas the employees of the Ministry of Employment and Labour and Service for human resources development of the Republic Korea for free of charge based on applications of the Agency for external labour migration.
