Uzbekistan adopts measures to improve medical aid to children

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan issued a decree “On measures on improving medical aid to children” on 10 July 2013.
The document was adopted to improve efficiency of measures on ensuring social guarantees and rights of children for protection of health, as well as improve strategy and tactics on organization of medical aid to children.
The decree set that children at the age up to 18 (17 years 11 months and 29 days) will receive free medical aid at the healthcare institutions of the Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan.
Minister of Healthcare of Karakalpakstan, heads of regional healthcare departments and main department of healthcare of Tashkent city, medical establishments were entrusted to ensure in-patient treatment to children at the age between 0 and 18 at healthcare institutions in line with the set order.
They were also entrusted to render in-patient treatment to children through organization of separate rooms for teenagers at the age between 15 and 18 based on their gender.
The document said that the primary in-patient treatment to children at the age between 0 and 5 will be rendered in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
